The Palestinian American Bridge held its second Annual Banquet Event on February 13, 2010 at the Westin Galleria, 5060 West Alabama in Houston, Texas. The guest speaker was Mr. Andrew Whitley, Head of UNRWA (United Nations Relief and Works Agency).
Mr. Whitley spoke about the current situation in the occupied Gaza Strip and UNRWA’s efforts to assist Palestinians. The event also included an update about the organization.During the event, PAB raised money for Dr. Uwaydah’s Scholarship, a new PAB Scholarship for Palestinian Students More details about this scholarship will be posted on our website soon.

In the last 2 years, 16 Student scholarships (Dr. Uwaydah Scholarship) were awarded by the Palestinian American Bridge Organization (PAB) to outstanding Palestinian students in the Houston Metropolitan Area. This year, and with your help and contributions to the Scholarship Fund we are planning to increase the number of scholarships.
Also, the Board of Directors has unanimously approved the UNRWA’s proposal to expand the scholarship program to include Palestine and the Diaspora (Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, West Bank and Gaza) directly through the UNRWA Fields in these countries.

We have decided that there is no better time than now to start a project we have been working on for quite some time now. On the day after the 5th Annual Banquet ( Sunday, February 24th) we will have our First Annual Leadership Training Workshop hosted by PAB and conducted by Mrs. Pamela Olson and brief presentations by Mr. Grant Smith and Mrs. Alison Weir. Our main goals are to empower the youth, teach them how to achieve their goals with the opportunities that are presently available, teach them how to aspire to be a leader, and to excel in the presentation of the Palestinian, Arab, Muslim, World issues. Please encourage your youth to register on the google doc below and to be at Fadi’s at Eleven Sharp! All what they need to do is to be a PAB Members! If they are not members please asked them to visit our website at www.pab-usa.org to download the application. They can pay the membership fee ($25) the day of the Workshop! As members they are allowed admission to all the events like this one for a full year. At the Workshop we will be serving Fadi’s Complete Lunch on us! Spread the word to anyone who may be interested! The Palestinian American Bridge (PAB) organization is pleased to announce that a limited number of scholarships are available for the academic year 2013/2014. Ibrahim Uwaydah Scholarship, was established by the organization in honor of the late Dr. Ibrahim Uwaydah for students of Palestinian origin who study in the Houston area in higher education institutions, yet another major milestone in the organization’s endeavors.
